Edith and Silvia are lovely hosts, very hospitable, making you feel like at home. One get a family feel once you walk through the door. We could leave our bags already in the morning, before the check-in, and could also store them after the check-out, during the day of our departure. We got breakfast when we arrived in the morning even though it wasn't included in our stay, this was super nice!
Breakfast is great. The buffet provides a variety of options. Freshly boiled eggs are also served!

This was possibly the best hotel we have ever stayed at. The staff were really helpful and the facilities were excellent. They had a Finnish sauna which was actually pretty close to the real thing. A dip in the roof top pool before breakfast is highly recommended!

We had a fabulous time at this wonderful resort where the staff were friendly and helpful offering a warm welcome complete with glass of Prosecco. Our room was large, airy and with a great balcony overlooking the mountains. The environment is stunning and there’s a wonderful walk up to Bad Gastein alongside the waterfall.
We loved the pool and sauna area - perfect chill out zone. The property has a great bar where cake is offered in the afternoon. The food was generous and outstanding and we can’t wait to come for another stay.

Bad Gastein used to be the place to be in the mountains...
Bad Gastein used to be the place to be in the mountains until 60 years ago. The architecture reflects this, beautiful belle epoque buildings everywhere.
Unfortunately Bad Gastein wanted to become more "modern" in the 60-70ies. So they destroyed the village with awful buildings. The elegance was lost.
Since 20 years those mistakes are being corrected and from my point of view they managed to hide the worst "architectural disturbances" in the meanwhile. And you can already feel it: it´s alive again and again gives one the impression to be in an elegant, timeless place.
Also it seems that a new generation of hoteliers and restaurant owners is bringing some freshness into the village.
So i can clearly recommend: go and see!

We had skiied in the Ski Amade area before but not in Bad Gastein - it was a very special surprise. We chose it because the resort is at high altitude, and we were taking a chance on good snow conditions, mid December, but it exceeded our expectations. We'll definitely be back!!!

We came during off-season - so a lot of places were closed. But we still found excellent restaurants, and things to do - and, to be honest, enjoyed the quiet. There were too many great restaurants to mention - every experience was unique, either because of the tasty menu, the views or the ambience.
The walk along the waterfall is amazing! We walked up the path for the first time at night, coming home after dinner. It’s well maintained and well lit - my mom did it with ease at 83 years young!

Badgastein is a little gem in the Austrian Alps, with many options for a rejuvenating holiday. The paths in the mountains are enchanting, there is a ski center for winter sports, while the thermal waters feed the spas of many hotels, as well as the big municipal spa of this small town. There are regular connections by train to other parts of Austria and by bus to neighbouring villages.
The only "disadvantage" is that the typical cuisine of the area is not inspirational and the dining experience is not that high compared to the other services offered in the area.

We skipped one day skiing and went to the Alpentherme at the Bad Hofgastein, it was a great and relaxing experience. But too hot inside. The children under 16 could not use tha sauna complex, not much to do for teen boys there.
We have just stayed a week in Tatiana’s appartment in Bad Gastein and it exceeded all our expectations! The appartment is Well-located just next to the ski bus and with a beuaitful view from the balcony. The appartment is very clean and very Well-equipped in terms of kitchen tools, furnitures etc. Tatiana was the most welcoming and helpful host. She responded very quickly to all messages, and everything was possible! I would recommend Tatiana as a host at all times!
The hotel is brand new, architecturally perfect, stylish and reeks of old times. It is as if you have returned to the end of the 19th century. Everything is perfectly designed and combined with the modern age. The staff is very kind, very professional, and I would especially single out Anja, Romano and Timo from the reception, Zoran from the Spa center and the younger guy from the restaurant ( during breakfast time).
We are definitely coming again in January.
The location of the Youth Hotel is fantastic. We travelled by train to the resort (which I would highly recommend) and the hotel was situated a few hundred metres from the station. You're only a 5 minute walk to the main lift too. The rooms were basic but spacious. Great shower and clean. Bad Gastein is a beautiful town, as long as you can handle the steep hills. If you're travelling on a budget this will probably meet your requirements just fine.
Very close to the train station and ski lift, walking distance to the old town of Bad Gastein. Very friendly staff, decent breakfast. I stayed in a recently renovated room. Another befriended couple however stayed in an older room for the same price. So perhaps worth asking to be put in the newer rooms. All together absolutely nothing to complain. Just the pool is perhaps a bit small for the peak season.
The beautiful hotel is in an exquisite location at the top of Bad Gastein. The room was clean, comfortable, and everything I needed as a solo traveler. They also had a place to store my bike. The hosts are very friendly and recommended a place for dinner. The breakfast was one of the best I had on my Alpe-Adria bike ride. I hope to come back and spend more time in this beautiful place! Thank you!
The facilities are brand new and of a very high standard. The rooms are very comfortable, especially the beds. The views are absolutely spectacular. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. As the hotel renovations were not fully complete when we arrived we were treated to a complimentary gala dinner at a sister hotel which was a very marvellous treat.
The 3 saunas and relaxation area were great. The relaxation area had a lot of different spaces to use. The infinity pool on the roof for was very cool. We went out there on a sunny but cold morning and we had gorgeous views of the mountains. In the hotel room there were towels, dressing gowns and flip flops. The shower and bathroom were great too.
Scandinavian interior design in Austrian Alps - a perfect recipe for a cosy stay! The house is located in a peaceful neighbourhood, a 10-minute drive from the wonderful Sportgastein ski resort (or Stubnerkogel if you prefer a less advanced option). Highly recommended! Thank you, Peter, for having us!
It was in the centre of everything that we needed (main ski lift, big shop nearby, restaurants & bars nearby). It was nice and quiet even though we were around the corner from the action.
The apartment was warm and comfortable, perfect for a couple. Bad Gastein offered a great ski area.
Pool and sauna were great, I adore dogs and loved walking through the hotel to meet the dogs (they’re off leash mostly so if you have allergies, don’t come here). I was on a easy floor with ease to bring my bike into the room. The restaurant was amazing for both dinner and breakfast.
The location , just at the top of the waterfall ! Very cosy homely atmosphere, a general lounge area to rest and have a beer or a coffee. Spaces rooms
Friendly owners of the hotel who are very good hosts. They gave us a lot of good tips to move around , restaurants etc.
The new Management created a nice hipster Place in Bad Gastein. We liked that idea and enjoyed the facilities a lot.
Right now the hotel is not exactly a busy place and that makes it a bit spooky (especially in the evening).
The breakfast could be a bit fancier.
Fantastic breakfast. Nice dining room, where you can spend great time apres ski. Very well designed outdoor sauna and spa area. Extremely clean rooms and hotel. Very helpful and kind personnel.
Very friendly staff, good food options, a lot of things to do in the hotel (the saunas were super), and very good value for money. We had a great time.
