We were a group of friends, we visited local war graves and stayed for the Last Post at the Menin Gate, which was well done and very respectful (although you need to get there at least 1 hour before the service to see anything). We do intend to visit again to explore the region further.

Ieper (Ypres) is an ideal base for exploring WW1 sites & cemetaries. The historic Cloth Hall contains an impressive museum and if you go it's worth paying the extra few euros to climb the 230 steps to the top of the bell tower. The views of the city are impressive from here.
The Last Post Ceremony every night at 8 pm is a moving and thought provoking tribute. It's a must if you can make it.

Ieper holds a horrendous history when it comes down to the tragic loss of life.
But on the other hand it has a sense of peace when you walk around.
The battles took place 108 years ago, so its good that there are still preserved sites to visit that this is never forgotten.

A superb base to tour the battlefield sites around the town.
A superb base to tour the battlefield sites around the town. Ypres itself is quiet and charming, with a good selection of restaurants and cafes and the excellent In Flanders Fields Museum. Highly recommended.
This is a lovely B&B, centrally located in Ieper - only 10 minutes walk from downtown and the Menin Gate. Parking available. The room is very well appointed, the bed is comfy, and the air conditioning works! We did not include breakfast in our stay so I can’t comment on that. Everything is very clean and neat! There is a narrow staircase to negotiate, but we had no trouble. Franky is a wonderful host, who was available to help with restaurant suggestions and sightseeing options. Ieper is a beautiful city that is well worth a visit!
As ever, our stay at Cocoon was a delight. We love Ieper and Cocoon is the perfect place to stay if you visit. Sofie is the best host you could ever wish for, with a genuine warmth and wonderful sense of humour. The rooms are immaculate and comfortable, and the breakfasts are excellent, with lovely eggs and bacon to complement a range of other items on offer. The terrace is a welcome addition, especially if the weather is hot, as it was for us. Wonderful to be back in Ieper - it has been too long!
Nice clean hotel with nice garden to have a picknick. Also very easy to park your car and even a safe place to keep your hired bikes for some days. Breakfast was also very tasty. For people that want to have a good walk, you can also walk to the center of the city in a small hour. If good weather you can also easily have your breakfast outside in the morning sun. In the room you can easily put the window open without to be afraid for musquitos.
Everything was amazing a great little Belgium hotel. Got there late for checkin was still let in. Probably the best sleep I had a few days. Room was spacious. Capped off a great visit to Europe would definitely visit again. Wifi available in entire hotel staff were very helpful. Location is very good to visit Ypres. Had a great visit thanks
The most beautiful boutique hotel run by the equally beautiful Elodie who is the most sincere and loveliest host you could ask for. The breakfast is outstanding and worth a visit just for that!! Each room is special and individual and a very high standard!! We will definitely be back if we come to Ypres again!
Location excellent for the town centre and Menheim Gates. Shops are good as well.

The location was amazing, within walking distance of market square and other attractions. Parking was close and free. the bedrooms were beautifully kept and comfortable. Most of all I appreciated all the little touches that went into making the stay convenient and comfortable.
Have stayed at this hotel on several occasions both with my family and also with touring groups. Good hotel, location in centre of Ypres is excellent. Breakfast is very good. Staff are excellent.
Looking forward to my next visit in July and September.
A really fabulous stay in this hotel. Right in the centre of Ypres. The car parking (11 Euros) was also super convenient. Our rooms were comfortable, lovely bedding and towels and super clean. The hotel staff were friendly. Would definitely recommend.
The hotel is located near the big square and has a cheap outside parking (€2 per day) around the corner. It's clean and the staff is friendly. Breakfast is good but I think it's too expensive, try to book it together with the room to get it cheaper.
Apartment was lovely, much better than I expected from the photos. It was spacious and clean. Karin and her husband were very accommodating and quick to communicate. The location itself is right in the centre of Ieper, a beautiful charming town.
Hostess was friendly and helpful.
The hotel is close to the Menen Gate and town centre so it was easy to walk around Ypres from there.
Happy to recommend the Ambrosia Hotel to anyone visiting the area.
