Pity the bottled water in the room was lukewarm . Most hotels now have a small fridge in the room or an ice machine in the corridor. Both breakfast and dinner weren’t bad but not memorable.

Character bed and breakfast, loved the attention to detail. The little extra things that made it special (real milk, proper teapot, robes, cookies) With notice they can provide afternoon tea (which looked lovely).

The town is not what it once was, but as someone born and bred in Ayr I have nothing to dislike about it. Loads of good places to stay and to eat for all tastes and expenses. Very easy to navigate around the town by car, lots of buses at regular intervals. 3 great golf courses if that's your thing, loads of nice walks along the river, beach and if you find it Craigie Park (great for picnics).

Although there is a selection of the bars, restaurants and shops, the town centre is sadly lacking. Many, many empty shops. Full of charity shops, nail bars and vape shops. Ayr used to be one of my favourite places. Sadly, unfortunately those days are long gone.

Not an awful lot to do especially for young people but Culzean Castle and Dumfries House worth a visit. We also enjoyed the Burns museum. Glasgow easy drive away. Ayr and other beaches would be great in warmer months . Best dinner was at Kirkton Inn, Dalrymple and best lunch at The Coo Shed
Room had exceptional view average size and was clean and livable. Breakfast was above expectation. Location was acceptable but the overall hotel and facilities fall by far short of the normal Mercure hotel and standard.
Value for money was poor the price we paid there was the same as Double tree by Hilton in Glasgow city centre with the two hotels totally incomparable.
For a "budget" hotel, this was exceptional. Very clean and had all the facilities we required for a short break. The staff are very friendly. The welcome was warm both from them and the many locals who use the smashing wee bar. That real cask ales were on sale from the on-site Ayr Brewing Company was an added bonus for us.
This B&B was the nicest room we’ve had in our 15 days in Scotland. The hosts are lovely people and the townhouse is amazing. They served an excellent breakfast with many great choices. The room was very elegantly attired and very large and comfortable.
Everything as usual..... beautiful room, clean, comfy bed, nice hot shower.... our 'go to' hotel when in Ayr. Excited to see the restaurant downstairs opening again and got a sneak peak....looks amazing. Will add to the already perfect hotel.
Stayed here a week ago and decided to stay again as it was only a little over an hour to the Ferry heading back to Ireland. Great hotel and great breakfast . Also Cloe at front desk was very helpful in printing out birding pass for us.
I think it is a very comfortable hotel, the staff are incredibly warm and friendly staff. The location is great, on the edge of Ayr Race Course, with good car parking. My room was spacious and very comfortable.
Room, breakfast staff all very good, comfortable, and I got a good B&B rate so very good value for money for the quality of the hotel. I liked that there was a leisure club with pool, gym, sauna, steam room.
Beautiful hotel. The staff were really friendly, happy for a chat and very accommodating. Our room was a great size for 2 nights. The breakfast was delicious and served to order. We enjoyed our stay here!
The location was excellent, the beach only a 5 minute walk away and the town centre also 5 minutes with lots of restaurants in easy walking distance, yet the accommodation was in a nice quiet street.
It was a lovely cottage everything you need, great location from city centre, left essentials to start your holiday with, will definitely be back to stay when going to Ayr again
The staff were friendly and helpful. The Seaview room was spotless. Overall I'd definitely recommend this place to my friends. I will return to the Horizon Hotel
It was super clean and comfortable. The owners were so accommodating and friendly. By far the best breakfasts we’ve had throughout our many trips to Scotland!!!
It was very close to the beach, excellent views from the bar/ restaurant/breakfast lounge.
The hotel is within easy walking distance of the town centre
