The Chainbridge Hotel, hotel in Llangollen

The Chainbridge is sited in a unique spot between the spectacular Dee River, with it's racing white water and leaping salmon, and the Llangollen canal.

Amazingly beautiful location on the river. The balconies from the rooms offered spectacular views. Peaceful and quiet with only the sound of the river. The staff were extremely helpful, patient and went out of their way to help us. The room was clean and comfortable. It is very close to the world heritage aqueduct which we walked across. We wish we had more time there to explore the paths along the river Dee and the pretty town nearby.

The road up to the accommodation is quite steep and with a few very sharp bends. This was already pointed out to us in the owners write up as a possible problem which a few people found difficulty with. We did not have any problems with this.

Lovely little town on the river in a beautiful area with great walks and outdoor activities. We usually try to eat at Fouzis at least once when visiting. Great Italian restaurant. Great walk to Trevor along the canal, then lunch at the old chapel across the road, when youve walked across the aquaduct. About 5 miles each way but on the flat. Also walk to Horseshoe Falls in the opposite direction, just a couple of miles each way. We were lucky with the weather but sways best to take a raincoat!

A little gem of a village set by the River Dee .

A little gem of a village set by the River Dee . There’s plenty to interest any traveler from vintage railway to canal boat rides or walking to the famous pontcysylite Aqueduct. There’s a castle ruins overlooking Llangollen with some amazing views of the surrounding area . In the village there’s ample shops ,cafes and bars .

Charming little town on the River Dee with loads of attractions from the Llangollen canal to hill walking. Right in the heart of the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct World Heritage Site, so a very interesting and historical place. Not enough time to visit everything, so would like to return.

great holiday location, walking mountain biking or white water rafting and canoeing plus lots of bars / restaurants for after or instead of. The horse shoe falls are entirely uninspiring. more of a small weir in a field. the 20mph speed limits are ridiculous in places. steap hills and low speed mean low gears and high revs. Hardly improving the lives of those who live there. Wales has so much to offer, nice people, beautiful hills and rivers and some of the best beaches Ive ever seen.

This hotel is perfectly situated in the heart of Llangollen and is ideal for seeing the sights. The staff were amazing giving us a beautiful breakfast and were polite, friendly servers joint in a laugh and joke with us. The host Cathy could not have been more helpful and friendly with us making us feel very welcome from the start making sure parking spaces were ready for us and checking us into our rooms, all with a massive smile. Highly recommend this establishment and look forward to returning. Thank you.

If you want to stay in a yurt (and I did), this really is a very good one to choose. I had thought that it might be a field of yurts, but on the contrary it was a single yurt in its own field north of Llangollen. You're not going to get hotel comforts (think of staying in a house with no central heating) but you'll get clean air, beautiful skies (in the right weather) and a romantic spot. I thought that the instructions for getting there and once you were in the yurt were very clear and helpful too.

This hotel and spa is by far one of the best in the area, From the parking of the car the view of the excellent well laid out garden to the well laid out hotel was pleasing to the eye. The staff were well presented and very professional in there approach to guests. The room was well laid out and comfortable The spa was well organized and having one hour complimentary use was a bonus, I will certainly return to this hotel and would recommend it to anyone looking for a good hotel

This has to be the cleanest B+B / Hotel we have ever stayed at. The room was beautifully decorated with a massive bed and all the amenities you could need including a decent sized mini fridge. Shower water pressure was really good as well 😊😊 Continental breakfast in the morning was lovely and filling with a fresh pot of coffee. Sue our host was absolutely lovely and even offered to drop us at the local pub so we could both have a drink. This place is highly recommended.

Brilliant central location, within walking distance of the centre of Llangollen and all amenities. We stayed for 2 nights and didn't use our car which we parked on the road outside the house. Lots of walks to choose from in the local area, all starting within walking distance of the accommodation. The owners left us wine and biscuits on arrival and were in touch with us to see if we had settled in ok and had some recommendations on places to eat with a dog.

Wonderful location, river and canal side views. Room was disappointing, on the canalside, it seemed to be the small adjoining room of a suite. No wardrobe or bedside cabinet, probably child's room for a family booking, as TV only had kid's channels! As we had paid full price I think we should have had a better room. Breakfast was OK but the hotel's best feature is the view. Walk into Llangollen takes about 30 minutes along the canal towpath.

Staff were friendly, we were briefed well on afternoon of our Check in, and when we Checked - out. Breakfast was great, and the Staff generally helped a lot with general information about Llangollen. We would highly Recommend the Bridge End Hotel, to visitors to Llangollen in the Future, and would stay there again, ourselves. Very good Value for money.

Warm friendly hosts, the room was amazing with exceptional views across Llangollen. The breakfast was cooked to perfection using quality ingredients. I felt unwell in the morning we were checking out and the host very kindly allowed us to check out slightly later. This was helpful as I didn't have to rush. Highly recommend
