Situated in Mengibar, 26 km from Jaén Train Station, HOTEL PALACIO DE MENGIBAR features accommodation with a garden, private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace. Location is right in the main square of Mengibar. Very close to the Jaen, Ubeda and Baeza. It’s literally a former palace. The food in the restaurant is also delicious. For its price, I dont think I have stayed in such a nice hotel.

This beautiful 17th-century building is located in the UNESCO World Heritage site of Úbeda, next to Santa Clara Convent. Its elegant rooms feature free WiFi and a flat-screen TV. Beautiful, quirky hotel in a quiet location, with a lovely, homely atmosphere. Owner and staff were fantastic and incredibly welcoming and helpful. The opportunity to enjoy a nightcap was a welcome bonus. Location was great with lots to see in the near vicinity.

Set in a stone, country-style house, Hotel Rural la Calerilla offers a seasonal outdoor pool surrounded by hammocks and sun loungers. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout. The staff were exceptional. Always smiling, efficient and friendly they could not be faulted. The restaurant served excellent dishes and while not being spectacularly cheap it was not over the top either, especially given the quality. We were able to obtain towels from reception for use by the pool at no charge. Ample free parking.

Hotel Carmen Boutique is a four stars acommodation that blends a historical 19th-century building with contemporary minimalist design. The hotel was very comfortable, with a king-size bed and huge 55 in TV. All the staff were fantastic, friendly and helpful. The pool was extremely welcome after wandering the streets in the summer heat. Breakfast was delightful. Highly recommend staying here.

Nestled in Andalusia’s mountainous countryside and surrounded by forest and with a great outdoor pool and private lake, this rustic retreat is the perfect country getaway. If you want to get away close to nature then this is a good spot. It has a Hunting lodge style with a good restaurant and bar beside a large veranda where you can watch the scenery, have a glass of wine and listen to nature. Rooms are rustic and comfortable. We had a small balcony to let us sit and watch over the valley. Staff are all very nice and cheerful. We had a half board package at a very reasonable price. The menu selection was good as was the food. Portions were very generous. There's a pack of tame geese to provide some entertainment and amusement when they go on parade around the artificial lake. You can travel to local nature spots but we just went on the local walk along the bank of the Guadalquivir. We saw some deer, jays, nutthatch, crossbills and terrapins. We could hear green woodpeckers calling but didn't get a glimpse. We only stayed two nights but there seems to be plenty to see for a longer trip. The views on the drive from Cordoba were pretty spectacular. It's a typical mountain drive with a good surface but a winding road with a long climb. The parking there is fine. We didn't use the pool but it looked good. The drive North along the river towards Murcia is pleasant also. So a very enjoyable stopover.

On top of the Santa Catalina hill, this 18th-century castle has been beautifully renovated keeping its huge stone walls and many historical features to make for an authentic stay in Jaén. What a wonderful place! Like from another time, but with modern comfort and everything you need! An exceptional view, a wonderful, large room. We were more than happy with our stay!
